Helen Berland (née Lipschutz; American, 1915–1986) was a widely exhibited Milwaukee-based artist whose trompe l'oeil paintings are in public and private collections throughout the United States. She received her bachelor's degree in art at Milwaukee State Teacher's College (now the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee) and did graduate work there and at the Layton School of Art. During the 1940s and 1950s she worked as a designer of children's clothing for Florence Eisman and also as an industrial designer for Brooks Stevens.
Berland developed her trompe l'oeil painting style in the early 1950s. Her work was featured in many museum and gallery exhibitions in Wisconsin and was also included in national exhibitions, such as the 1958 Art U.S.A. exhibit in New York, and at the Feingarten Galleries, Chicago, in 1968.
